Attention residents of D.C.: Crumbs & Whiskers—the city’s first “cat cafe”—is set to open next month.
The much-hyped cafe, which crowdfunded itself within 12 hours and then subsequently put out a call for “cat-loving visionaries” to work for free, will finally open next month, but an exact date hasn’t yet been announced.
“We do have an exact opening date in mind, and if all goes according to plan, we will be announcing it very soon,” founder and owner Kanchan Singh, says in a statement. “We can tell you that it will ABSOLUTELY open next month, and that we are ABSOLUTELY STOKED (to put it lightly).”
The cafe, which will be located in Georgetown, will be like any other cafe—coffee, food, etc.—but it will also feature cats from the Washington Humane Society that patrons can play with and, if they moved, adopt.
