Daron Dylon Wint, the 34-year-old suspect in the quadruple murder of the Savopoulos family and their housekeeper, is believed to have fled to the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

In a press conference this afternoon, Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier briefed the media on the latest in the brutal quadruple murder, which has transfixed the region.

“There’s a lot of misinformation being leaked out to the media,” Lanier said, “and we caution everyone to be cautious of their sources.” What police have been able to confirm is that Wint is believed to have fled the D.C. area and is at large in Brooklyn.

Perhaps one of the most puzzling and disturbing aspects of the case is the unknown motive; Savvas Savopoulos, a businessman who ran American Iron Works, which is a large metal distributor for various construction contractors, was found murdered in his Northwest home along with his wife Amy, 10-year-old son Philip, and their housekeeper, Veralicia Figueroa.

Lanier offered little new information on the case during today’s briefing, but said police “believe that there is a connection between the suspect in this case through the business,” and added that Wint once worked at American Iron Works.

Anyone with information on Wint’s whereabouts should call police at (202) 727-9099 or send an anonymous text to 50411.
