Five-year-old Damian Goode is now safe in the custody of his grandmother after Metro Transit Police said he was abducted by his father earlier this morning.

Dajuan Goode is in policy custody and charges are pending.

Police said that Goode took his son around 8:15 a.m. at the King Street Metro Station. According to the Post, Goode grabbed him from his mother’s custody:

The incident began around 8:15 a.m., when the mother and her son were waiting for a train at the King Street stop and they saw the boy’s father on the platform. The father managed to take the boy from his mother, according to police, and got onto a train headed north. The mother followed and tried to talk the father into turning over the boy.

But Metro officials said the father allegedly made threats against the woman. He managed to get off the Metro train at the Pentagon City stop around 8:30 a.m., but the mother was unable to get off in time.
