Break out your umbrellas, D.C., because the entire region is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. this evening.
As the Capital Weather Gang reports, storms will most likely occur between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. today, “with 3-7 p.m. the window to most closely watch for storms in the immediate metro area.”
The storms might not be particularly devastating, you should still probably hang out inside. CWG says the storms are “likely to contain lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds,” with the “best chance” of storms producing gusts of wind up to 60 mph, and possibly even hail.
Anyway, yeah, be warned, D.C.
