Almost Friday, everyone. As such, you must be thinking to yourself “oh, I can’t wait to do all these fun weekend things I have planned!” That’s good! You should be excited about your weekend plans. Just don’t get too excited if they involved taking the Metro, because five out of six lines will be delayed because of scheduled track work. Here’s what’s going on:

Red Line

Trains every 10-20 minutes.

Red Line trains will operate as follows throughout the weekend:

  • Between Shady Grove and Glenmont: every 20 minutes.
  • Between Friendship Heights and NoMa-Gallaudet: every 10-12 minutes from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. only.

Work Performed: Grout pad rehabilitation, ballast, track fastener and insulator renewal for a safer ride will cause Red Line trains to share one track between Medical Center and Grosvenor and between Rhode Island Avenue and Takoma.

Orange Line

Orange Line trains will operate every 26 minutes throughout the weekend.

Work Performed: Orange Line trains will share one track between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon to allow for emergency call box installation, rail tie and insulator renewal for a safer ride.

Silver Line

Silver Line trains will operate every 26 minutes throughout the weekend.

Work Performed: Silver Line trains will share one track between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon to allow for emergency call box installation, rail, tie and insulator renewal for a safer ride.

Blue Line

Blue Line trains will operate every 26 minutes throughout the weekend.

Work Performed: Blue Line trains will share one track between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery to allow for emergency call box installation, rail, tie and insulator renewal for a safer ride.

Green Line

Green Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Branch Avenue and College Park.

Stations Closed: Greenbelt

Free shuttle buses will replace Green Line trains between College Park and Greenbelt.

Work Performed: Continued construction of a new test track located between College Park and Greenbelt to accept Metro’s new fleet of 7000-series railcars.
