SHOPPING: Tonight begins the first of six monthly markets at the Waterfront Station, conveniently titled “Market SW.” The festivities will include live painting, music, and a beer garden. (4th and M Streets SW) 4-9 p.m.
MORE SHOPPING: Shop for American-made products from two dozen vendors when the NORTHERN GRADE marketplace takes over Dock 5 at Union Market for the weekend. (1305 5th Street NE) 3-8 p.m. (Also open 11-7 on Saturday, and 11-6 on Sunday).

COLOR: D.C. joins San Jose and Knoxville in receiving the the “SELF Edition” of the Color Me Rad race. Run through colored powdered and gels, because, why not? RFK Stadium (2400 East Capitol Street SE) 9 a.m.-12 p.m. $50
BEER: New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat is back. Enjoy a fun filled day of “bikes, beer, and bemusement.” See the full schedule of events here. Yards Park (355 Water Street SE) 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free entry.
