A video of a dramatic Metro beating has been viewed more than 2.5 million times since it was posted yesterday.

The altercation between two adults—in which one man repeatedly punches the second man while shouting “don’t play with me”—was captured on a seven-minute video posted to Facebook. The victim gets up and staggers around, dripping blood, before the man punches him again. As the man goes back toward the victim, a bystander shouts “Don’t hit him again.” At one point, he walks toward people off camera at the other end of the train, saying “Where you at youngin? Where you running at?” When he returned, the pair continued to argue. It isn’t entirely clear what the fight was about.

Metro Transit Police questioned the two men when they got off at Southern Avenue. The man who was punched declined to press charges, Metro spokesman Richard Jordan said.

However, transit police got a call later that evening from the parent of two teenagers who were also on the train wishing to file assault charges. The parent said that teens weren’t injured, according to Jordan. Metro Transit Police are investigating.

While some people have complained about the violence on Metro, Jordan said that this type of incident is rarely reported to transit police. “Nothing to this degree,” he said. “Mostly we get verbal harassment reports.”
