As part of National Safety Month, the D.C. government is sponsoring free first aid/CPR classes in all eight wards.
Serve DC, the Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism, is aiming to get 800 to 1,000 citizens trained to respond to emergencies as part of its F.R.E.S.H. Summer of Training initiative.
To that end, emergency-management professionals and first responders that have been certified by the American Heart Association will be leading free classes through August (so far registration is open for trainings through mid July). Any resident or person employed in the District can take them.
To register, go to DCSafetySummer.eventbrite.com.
