Janeites rejoice. The Dumbarton House is once again hosting a free three-part outdoor film series featuring adaptations of Jane Austen novels.
It should be noted that the screening of Pride & Prejudice is the infinitely inferior Keira Knightley disaster of 2005, not the brilliant BBC miniseries (though I suppose they could be forgiven for thinking that people might not sit through all six hours). Members of the museum can snag a spot beginning at 7 p.m., while doors open to non-members at 7:30 p.m.
July 1: Sense & Sensibility (1995)
July 15: Emma (1996)
July 29: Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Rain dates: July 8, July 22, and August 5
As a bonus, the museum will be open from 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. for self-guided tours. The screenings begin at sundown.
