A 19-year-old died early this morning shortly after she was raped by a 16-year-old boy outside of the Montgomery County Circuit Courthouse.

WJLA reports that the boy was arrested for second-degree rape after he raped his date following a movie they went to at the Regal Cinemas movie theater in Rockville, Md. At approximately 11:40 p.m. last night, a courthouse security guard witnessed a struggle between a man and a woman through the closed circuit surveillance cameras and told the sheriff’s deputies who were exiting the building at the time. They went to investigate and saw the boy, 16-year-old Marquiz Turner, allegedly raping the woman and immediately arrested him.

Paramedics were called to transport the victim to a nearby hospital for a forensic rape exam and, while en route, the woman stopped breathing, lost her pulse, and died. At this time, a cause of death has not been determined and the official autopsy and toxicology results haven’t been released yet.

When being questioned by police, Turner said that “he was unwilling to accept ‘no’ for an answer,” adding “he was going to have intercourse regardless of [his date’s] objections.”

Turner faces up to 20 years in prison for second-degree rape if found guilty, but could have addition charges filed against him based on the autopsy and toxicology reports of the woman.
