There’s delays on all six Metro lines this morning. Bummer. This weekend, five of six Metro lines will be operating on a delayed schedule to accommodate scheduled track work, including some NTSB-recommended repairs. Here’s what’s going on:
Red Line
Trains every 15 minutes.
Red Line trains will operate as follows throughout the weekend:
- Between Shady Grove & Glenmont: trains every 15 minutes.
- Between Grosvenor & Silver Spring: every 7-8 minutes from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. only.
Work performed: Rail, tie and insulator renewal for a safer ride will cause Red Line trains to share one track between Twinbrook and Shady Grove.
Orange Line
Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work performed: Orange Line trains will share one track between Clarendon & Foggy Bottom to allow for joint elimination, floating slab and third rail renewal for a safer ride.
Silver Line
Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and East Falls Church only.
Passengers traveling to/from stations east of East Falls Church will need use Orange Line trains to complete their trip. Schedules are coordinated so the wait time for transferring passengers at East Falls Church is about five minutes or less.
