D.C. Police’s crackdown on prostitution in the District continues to rack up more arrests. Yesterday, the Metropolitan Police Department said they’ve arrested ten more men this week. This brings the total number of men arrested for solicitation of prostitution since July 14 to 78.
Though the MPD’s prostitution stings were primarily focused on activity in downtown D.C., all of this week’s arrests occurred in the Trinidad neighborhood of Northeast during overnight hours.
As MPD First District Commander Jeff Brown previously said, all of the current enforcement efforts “were focused on the ‘customers’ in reverse style operations.” The MPD is focusing their efforts in communities where prostitution is a reported problem. Their operation is ongoing.
