Once upon a time, I lived a quarter of a block from the flagship Philz Coffee in San Francisco, and it was magical. Now, whenever my boyfriend goes to California for work, he brings me back half a suitcase full of coffee bags (yes, he’s the best). But soon, he won’t have to schlep them any more!

The Adams Morgan BID announced earlier this year that a Philz would be coming to The Adamo (1827 Adams Mill Road NW)—their first store on the East Coast. And Popville is reporting that the opening is slated for “early next year.”

And, thus, San Francisco expats won’t have to brave a flight and falling, urine-soaked lamp posts(!) for the best coffee around.
