The Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the death of a month-old baby in Petworth.

The Post reports that officers were called to the 3700 block of 9th Street NW at about 3:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon. When authorities arrived, the male infant was reportedly not breathing and cold to the touch. The infant was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating the death and awaiting the results of an autopsy to reveal the cause of death.
