Yesterday sucked for Metro. Today was not much better: less than six hours after regular service was restored on the Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines following yesterday’s derailment, another track problem at the Smithsonian stop caused single-tracking for the morning commute.
Metro says that they’ve resolved the issue and trains are no longer single-tracking.
Org/Blu/Sil Line: No longer single tracking. Residual delays continue in both directions due to an earlier track problem at Smithsonian.

This morning’s track issue was not related to yesterday’s derailment, City Desk reports, although it happened quite close to where the incident happened yesterday.
Metro warns that passengers can expect residual delays for about 15 minutes in either direction this afternoon. Best of luck, Metro riders.
