Most D.C. residents only have a few moments at a time to take in the beauty of the city. Fortunately for us, animator Dan Dawley had enough time to spare to produce this pretty amazing footage of the District.

Dawley used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera, four different lenses and a tripod to capture some of Washington’s most iconic sites and the thousands of people who traverse them each day, according to the website Fstoppers.
