A White House staffer has been arrested and charged with assault after a lover’s quarrel with her U.S. Capitol Police boyfriend that led to her to stealing his service weapon and threatening him with it.

NBC4 reports that Barvetta Singletary, a Special Assistant to the President and House Legislative Affairs Liaison, texted her boyfriend, who works for the U.S. Capitol Police, on Friday, inviting him over to her house in Upper Marlboro for sex. Afterwards, she allegedly confronted him about another woman he was dating.

Singletary took the argument outside to his car and demanded to see her boyfriend’s cellphones. When he refused, she reached into his bag, pulled out his cellphones and his 40-caliber Glock 23 service weapon. After going back into her home, Singletary threatened her boyfriend with his gun after he refused to give her the passwords to his cellphones.

She then allegedly fired one round into the sofa where her boyfriend was sitting.

Her boyfriend fled the home and called 911. Singletary was soon arrested at her house without any incident. She’s being charged with first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
