A Maryland woman has been arrested on charges of pouring hot grits on a man and then striking him with a baseball bat, the office of the Prince George’s County’s sheriff’s office announced today.

Alexis Staton awoke a sleeping man with a heaping of hot grits on July 31, according to the police account. When the man leaped out of bed, she allegedly hit him in the head with a baseball bat. The man left the house in the 7000 block of Onyx Court in Capitol Heights with a bleeding head and burns on his body

Staton was arrested a few days later in the same home. She is charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
