In case you had plans to use the Metro to get someplace this weekend, you should read this first, because five of six lines will be experiencing heavy scheduled track work. Or, you know, just avoid Metro altogether. The choice is yours.
Red Line
Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work performed: Rail, tie and insulator renewal for a safer ride will cause Red Line trains to share one track between Van Ness & Friendship Heights and between Judiciary Square & Rhode Island Avenue.
Orange Line
Buses replace trains between Eastern Market & Cheverly.
Orange Line trains will operate as follows:
- Between Vienna & Eastern Market: trains every 15 minutes.
- Between Cheverly & New Carrollton: trains every 15 minutes.
From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Orange Line trains between Eastern Market and Cheverly. During this time, Potomac Ave, Stadium-Armory, Minnesota Avenue and Deanwood stations will be closed. Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:
- Orange Express buses will operate between Eastern Market and New Carrollton stations with no intermediate stops. Please add up to 35 minutes of travel time.
- Orange Local buses will operate between Eastern Market and Cheverly, making intermediate stops at Potomac Ave, Stadium-Armory, Minnesota Ave and Deanwood. Please allow 12-15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.
Travel Tips to/from Landover:
- To Downtown DC/Virginia: take Metrorail to New Carrollton and board an Orange Line Express shuttle bus to Eastern Market.
- To Deanwood, Minnesota Ave, Stadium-Armory or Potomac Ave: take Metrorail to Cheverly and board an Orange Line Local shuttle bus.
Last Train Times: The last westbound train of the night from New Carrollton will depart at its regular time. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Orange Line train will leave New Carrollton at 1:48 a.m. en route to Cheverly. The last westbound Orange Line train will depart Eastern Market at 2:53 a.m. On Sunday, the last train will leave New Carrollton at 10:48 p.m. and depart Eastern Market at 11:53 p.m.

Silver Line
Buses replace trains between Eastern Market & Benning Road.
Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East & Eastern Market every 15 minutes. Train service between Benning Road & Largo Town Center will operate as a Blue Line every 16 minutes.
From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Silver Line trains between Eastern Market and Benning Road. During this time, Potomac Ave and Stadium-Armory stations will be closed.
Free shuttle buses will operate between Eastern Market and Benning Road with intermediate stops at Potomac Ave and Stadium-Armory. Please allow 10-12 minutes of travel time for each station stop.
Last Train Time Changes: To allow for shuttle bus connections, on Friday and Saturday nights, the last westbound train will leave Largo Town Center (as a Blue Line) at 2:00 a.m. en route to Benning Road. The last westbound Silver Line train will depart Eastern Market at 2:44 a.m.
On Sunday, the last train will leave Largo Town Center (as a Blue Line) at 11:00 p.m. en route to Benning Road. The last westbound Silver Line train will depart Eastern Market at 11:44 p.m.

Blue Line
Buses replace trains between Eastern Market & Benning Road
Blue Line trains will operate as follows:
- Between Franconia-Springfield & Eastern Market: trains every 15 minutes.
- Between Benning Road & Largo Town Center: trains every 16 minutes.
From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Blue Line trains between Eastern Market and Benning Road. During this time, Potomac Avenue and Stadium-Armory stations will be closed.
Free shuttle buses will operate between Eastern Market and Benning Road with intermediate stops at Potomac Ave and Stadium-Armory. Please allow 10-12 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

Work Performed: Rail tie renewal and joint elimination for a safer ride will cause trains to share one track between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue stations.
