Duffy’s Irish Pub is coming back, and the wings are set to be just as you remember.

The U Street area bar a closed abruptly in November after mounting debts became to much to handle. Owner Andy Duffy called the day he shut down Duffy’s the worst of his life. Completely broke, he retreated to Florida and began waiting tables to make ends meet.

But Casey Callister, owner of D.C.-based Garden Thieves Pictures, has signed a lease for the bar on Vermont Street and is bringing Duffy, along with his vaunted wing recipe, back on as general manager.

To get things rolling, they’ve started an IndieGoGo campaign with offers including $25 for $40 of food and drink, a bottle of Duffy’s wing sauce, and future bar tab credit. They’ve already raised $8,000.
