The Washington Humane Society returns with its annual DC Walk for the Animals & Pet-A-Palooza at the end of the month. Forget how terrible the world is for a little while and pet some nice dogs.

The combination dog parade, fair, and fundraising walk takes place on September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Kingsbury Center (5000 14th Street NW), near the Carter Barron Amphitheater. The walk is free, though organizers encourage people to register as a team and raise funds for the Humane Society. And the dog-less are more than welcome to attend; adoptable dogs will be hanging out, too.
