If mid-week scheduled track work wasn’t enough to bum you out about Metro, well, this weekend’s rebuilding plans won’t make you too happy. Every line of Metro this week will be running on a delayed schedule due to scheduled track work. Here’s what’s going on:
Red Line
Red Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work Performed: Rail tie, fastener and insulator renewal for a safer ride will cause Red Line trains to share one track between Shady Grove & Twinbrook and Judiciary Square & Rhode Island Avenue stations.
Orange Line
Orange Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work Performed: Rail tie and fastener renewal will cause Orange Line trains to share one track between Vienna & West Falls Church and Eastern Market & Stadium-Armory.
Silver Line
Silver Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work Performed: Rail fastener renewal will cause Silver Line trains to share one track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory.
Blue Line
Blue Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work Performed: Rail fastener renewal will cause Blue Line trains to share one track between Pentagon City & Arlington Cemetery and Eastern Market & Stadium-Armory.
Yellow Line
Yellow Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Sq only. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.
Work Performed: Yellow Line trains will share one track between Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza to allow for rail fastener renewal and bridge inspection.
Green Line
Buses replace trains between College Park and Greenbelt on Saturday and Sunday.
Green Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Branch Avenue and College Park.
Station Closed: Greenbelt
Free shuttle buses will replace Green Line trains between College Park and Greenbelt.
Work Performed: Continued construction of a new test track located between College Park and Greenbelt to accept Metro’s new fleet of 7000-series railcars.
