At this point, Metro needs all the help they can get to turn things around, so why not accept a blessing from the Pope? It can’t hurt.

That’s the logic of this Change.org petition, started by Noah Rosenheck. “At this point I’m willing to try anything,” Rosenheck writes in the petition, which has quickly garnered more than 200 signatures in a matter of hours. Here’s the full letter to Pope Francis Rosenheck wrote:

Dear Pope Francis,

Our Metro system is having some troubles. All of DC would be grateful if you could find the time to bless it during your upcoming stay. Maybe a Papal Blessing is just what it needs.

A blessing is the least Metro needs in the next couple of days. WMATA is anticipating the great strain the Pope’s visit will have on the Metro system, especially when he leads Mass at Catholic University tomorrow.
