Two people have been transported to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries after a VRE passenger train slammed into a truck, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. The train hit a CSX vehicle at 14th Street and Maine Avenue SW, D.C. Police said.

The VRE’s train 311, which leaves from Union Station at 6 p.m., is cancelled this evening.
