Rockville Pike (Route 355) is closed in Bethesda after a water main break swamped the road this afternoon, police said. The road is shut down for more than mile between Jones Bridge Road and Pooks Hill Road.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said an inspector is headed out to the scene.

Aerial footage shows the how widespread the affected area is. Expect major delays in the area.
