It may have fallen three spots from last year, but D.C.’s Old Ebbitt Grill is still the sixth-highest grossing independent restaurant in the country, according to a report from Restaurant Business.
Tao Asian Bistro in Las Vegas and their New York City outpost took the first and second spots, grossing $47 million and $38 million respectively. The average check for diners was $70-$75.
Meanwhile, Old Ebbitt took in about $28 million last year, with a comparatively low average check size of $37.
The Hamilton, which made about $18 million in 2014, and Sequoia, which took in $15 million, both made a return from last year’s list, coming in at 20 and 54 respectively.
There were also several newcomers to the Restaurant Business ranking: the D.C. location of Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab came in at number 16 with gross revenues of $20.5 million, The Source took the number 33 spot at $16.7 million, and Logan Circle hotspot Le Diplomate came in at number 41 at $16 million.
Springfield’s Mike’s “American” was also ranked number 80, at $13.4 million.
