In terms of salary alone, leading D.C.’s only public university is the cushiest city government job around. UDC’s interim president, James Lyons, who stepped down in July, and his replacement President Ronald Mason Jr. pulled in annual earnings of $303,850, according to city data published by the Washington Business Journal.

The publication has again amassed a searchable database of all D.C. employee salaries over $50,000 (up to date through June 15, which is why the top earner is Lyons rather than Mason). It shows that there are 18 people—including Police Chief Cathy Lanier, DCPL’s Executive Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan, Chief Medical Examiner Roger Mitchell, and city administrator Rashad Young—who make more than Mayor Muriel Bowser’s $200,000.
