Downtown Silver Spring got into the seasonal spirit on Saturday night as zombies terrorized streets lined with entertained bystanders during an annual parade Zombie Walk. Gathering at the intersection of Sligo and Georgia Avenues, the loosely corralled group traveled along a quasi-designated route that echoed with screams of laughter and horror. Celebrating its seventh year, the walk continues to be a pre-Halloween hit. Costumes ranged from the laughable to the meticulously gruesome. And although the walking dead appeared to be from another place and time, most enjoyed 21st century technology in the form of pictures snapped by the crowds and paparazzi surrounding them…plus zombie selfies.
