Two juveniles were shot in the 4500 Block of East Capitol Street NE around 3:24 p.m. this afternoon, according to D.C. Police.

Both were conscious and breathing, and they have been transported to the hospital, according to police spokesman Sean Hickman. There are conflicting reports about whether they were exiting a Metrobus at the time, and the case remains under investigation, he said.

A WMATA spokesperson confirmed that police are reviewing surveillance video taken from a bus. That vehicle has since been taken out of service, she said.

As a result of police activity at the intersection, buses have been experiencing delays in the area.
