The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide traveled to Iraq to bear witness to the plight of ethnic and religious minorities who have been targeted by the self-proclaimed Islamic State.
The Museum captured images and testimonies from those have been persecuted and will project this imagery onto its exterior walls each night November 9-12 as part of FotoWeek 2015.
On Monday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m., the Museum will host a panel discussion about the situation in Iraq featuring Naomi Kikoler, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, who conducted the Bearing Witness trip; and Dakhil Shammo, a Yezidi human rights activist from the region.
