“If you haven’t heard of Potomac, that’s fine, because it means we’ve done a great job keeping it a nice, little secret,” says Gizelle Bryant.
Consider that “secret” officially blown, thanks to Bravo’s forthcoming Real Housewives of Potomac, which was just given a release date of January 17. Bryant is one of the housewives starring in the reality television juggernaut.
Years after the cancellation of the Real Housewives of D.C., Bravo is returning to the Beltway well. This time, though, the cameras are headed to the “rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools, and exclusive country clubs” of the ‘burbs, according to a statement from the network.
The show focuses on six women who “have fought for their places in this society by way of legacy or marriage,” the statement says. The squad includes two socialites, a model, a publicist, a “Maryland native with a spicy personality and an unmatched drive to succeed,” and the “grand dame of Potomac.”
The sneak-peak focuses on the housewives’ African-American identities, and has all the requisite toasting, sniping, and cleavage we’ve come to expect from the franchise.
