“We used to make shit in this country, build shit. Now we just put our hand in the next guy’s pocket,” doomed longshoreman Frank Sobotka said in the second season of The Wire.

Well, one noble D.C. area start-up wants to change that—with a little rebranding, of course.

Meet MakeOffices. You may have met this D.C. startup by its previous name, UberOffices (no affiliation with the car service app but you can see why it might appear confusing). This morning, members received an email saying, “We’re excited for this opportunity to rebrand ourselves as we grow and expand to new markets.”

The coworking space has outposts in Reston, Tysons, Dupont, Logan Circle, Bethesda, and Rosslyn, as well as in Chicago. MakeOffices plans to expand onto K Street and into Philadelphia, Toronto, and New York City.

I’m sure this is exactly what Sobotka had in mind.
