If you normally venture up north on the Yellow Line, the Green will be your friend this weekend because it’ll take you past Mount Vernon Square. Plus, the Silver Line has zero—yes, zero—plans to single track this weekend. Ah, the glory of a new line. No need for any of those renewed grout pads that the older tracks require. Still, wait times will be up to 20 minutes on the Silver, Orange, Yellow, and Blue lines—and 22 minutes on the Red Line.
Red Line
Trains every 22 minutes
Single tracking in two zones to allow for grout pad, rail tie, fastener, and insulator renewal:
Between Medical Center and Grosvenor Between Rhode Island Avenue and Fort Totten
Orange Line
Trains every 20 minutes
Single tracking between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly to allow for emergency call box, rail tie, fastener, and insulator renewal.
Silver Line
Trains every 20 minutes
Blue Line
Trains every 20 minutes
Single tracking between Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street to allow for grout pad, rail tie, fastener, and insulator renewal.
Yellow Line
Trains every 20 minutes—Huntington to Mount Vernon Square only
Single tracking between Braddock Road and Huntington to allow for grout pad, rail tie, fastener, and insulator renewal.
Green Line
Regular weekend intervals, except at Suitland and Branch Ave on Saturday
Single tracking between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue to allow for switch maintenance. On Saturday, Green Line trains operate at regular weekend intervals between Greenbelt and Naylor Road with every other train traveling to Branch Avenue.
