You may have noticed heightened security measures on Metro in recent days, and they’re set to continue this weekend. Earlier this week, the Metro Transit Police Department increased patrols, K9 sweeps, and random explosives screening following the attacks in Paris and threats against D.C. allegedly made by the Islamic State. So be prepared for that.
And, of course, there are your expected service delays throughout the system. The Red Line will run every 20 minutes and the Yellow and Blue lines will run every 24 minutes. The Orange and Silver lines will operate regularly, so they’re your best bet.
In related news, it’s almost a done deal for Paul Wiedefeld, who was named Metro’s next general manager earlier this month. He’s expected to be formally appointed tomorrow at a board meeting. Our prayers are with you Paul.
