Bryce Harper—most valuable player in the National League. The Nationals outfielder may not have led his team to the playoffs this year, but today the city of D.C. is celebrating his achievement as the first in the franchise to cinch the honor.

Harper has never been one to shy away from controversy, but he really stepped in it last night on Sports Center when answering a bizarre question about whether he would rather shave his head or never reach double digit home runs in a season. Instead of giving a much-warranted, “That’s a clown question, bro,” Harper instead spun some new gold.

Now, smart minds can disagree about whether to pronounce “gif” with a hard or soft g, but we generally reached a consensus about how to say the word “meme.”

Congratulations, Harper, looks like you may have created one of these little may-mays without turning your head into a cue ball.
