Ryn Weaver performs tonight at 9:30 Club.

Monday

Ryn Weaver, Astr, Holychild @ 9:30 Club. 7 p.m. doors, $25. All ages, accessible venue.

Singer Ryn Weaver came out of nowhere with her tastemaker-approved hit “Octahate.” The song, penned by Passion Pit singer Michael Angelakos and Charli XCX, is a perfect pop track that left many wondering how the then-unknown singer could follow it up. After releasing a short EP, Weaver dropped her debut full length, The Fool, in June. The album has decent standouts like the title track and EP holdover “Promises” but while those incorporate dance music, Weaver’s sound is more varied and folky. Weaver sold-out U Street Music Hall on her last visit, so get tickets now—they might go fast.

Tuesday

Negative Approach, Child Bite, Sick Fix, Sick Thoughts, Birth (Defects) @ The Pinch. 8 p.m., $12. All ages, accessible venue.

Wednesday

Dragonette, Avan Lava, Young Empires @ U Street Music Hall. 7 p.m. $20. All ages, accessible venue.

It has been a couple of years since the UK dance band, Dragonette, has released a proper full length but the band has contributed to many dance hits by faceless producers, most notably the Martin Solvieg smash, “Hello.” The band released a couple of singles this year and is busy working on new music, so this short tour might be a chance for the band to showcase what’s been wor. Nonetheless, it is always a fun time.
