Today, President Obama will yet again officially save the life… of a turkey.

It’s the 68th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation, or “turkey pardon.” The event has taken place just before the Thanksgiving holiday since 1947, as the chairman of the National Turkey Federation presents the president with a turkey who he’ll grace with life and dad jokes.

Yesterday, the American people got a chance to vote on Twitter for which of two turkeys should take the title. They were both hatched and raised near Central Valley, California and named by California school children.

In their profiles, Honest and Abe are pretty much turkey twins with similar height, weight, and wingspan. They both even favor the same kind of music: country. The only major difference is in their “strut style.” Honest is a “skoots in boots” kinda guy and Abe’s style is “macho man.”

The ceremony will take place in the White House Rose Garden at 2:30 p.m. While the president will only officially pardon one, both turkeys will go on to live outside of someone’s belly on a farm in Virginia.
