Anacostia High School was evacuated as police investigated a bomb threat, though as of 2:10 p.m. the building has been cleared of danger.

D.C. Public Schools Director of Communications Michelle Lerner says that students at Anacostia High School still had a full day today.

Ballou High School also received a bomb threat today, though police have determined that “all is clear” there, according to Metro Police Department spokesperson Karimah Bilal.

Students are back in their classrooms at Ballou, says Lerner.

Bilal says that MPD has “no information” about how either high school received the threat or whether the two incidents are connected to one another.

When the threat came in, Lerner says that, “We immediately contacted MPD and we followed all protocols.”

Later in the day, Lerner says that “we are working with MPD on security” at area schools.

Earlier this week, Los Angeles shut down its entire school system after a threat. New York City also received threats, though NYC Police Commissioner Bratton said they were not credible and made by someone who watches too much Homeland.
