Getting planes back in the air means a few things. First, airlines can start chipping away at the travel backlog that the blizzard created.

But more importantly, it lets passengers take photographs of what D.C. looks like from the air so we can bask in the winter wonderland from above.

Thanks to Emily Cadik, who snapped this shot from one of the first flights to leave post-Snowzilla, you can consider it confirmed—we’re blanketed in snow.
