It’s another jam-packed weekend of delays on the Metro. All six lines will undergo track work.

Red Line

Trains every 9-20 minutes | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until Closing Sunday

Single tracking in two zones to allow for rail renewal, joint elimination and communication cable installation.

  • Between Van Ness and Friendship Heights

  • Between Silver Spring and Glenmont

    • Red Line trains will operate:

  • Between Shady Grove and Silver Spring every 18 minutes

  • Between Farragut North and Silver Spring every 9-10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Shuttle trains will operate between Silver Spring and Glenmont every 20 minutes. Transfer at Silver Spring to continue trip.

    • Orange Line

    Buses replace trains between Stadium-Armory & Cheverly | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until Closing Sunday

    Orange Line trains will operate as follows:

  • Between Vienna and Stadium-Armory: trains every 15 minutes

  • Between Cheverly and New Carrollton: trains every 16 minutes

    • From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Orange Line trains between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. During this time, Minnesota Ave and Deanwood stations will be closed.

    Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:

  • Orange Express buses will operate between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly stations with no intermediate stops. Please add up to 20 minutes of travel time.

  • Orange Local buses will operate between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly, making intermediate stops at Minnesota Ave and Deanwood. Please allow 12-15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

    • Last Train Times:

  • The last westbound train of the night from New Carrollton will depart 27 minutes earlier. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Orange Line train will leave New Carrollton at 2:09AM en route to Cheverly. The last westbound Orange Line train will depart Stadium-Armory at 2:53AM. On Sunday, the last train will leave New Carrollton at 11:09 p.m. and depart Stadium-Armory at 11:53 p.m

  • The last eastbound train of the night from Vienna will depart 3 minutes earlier. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Orange Line train will depart Vienna at 2:23 a.m. On Sunday, the last train will leave Vienna at 11:23 p.m.

    • Work Performed: Rail & fastener renewal and platform rehabilitation between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly stations.

    Silver Line

    Regular weekend service between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston | 12:01 a.m. until closing Sunday

    Silver Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

    Blue Line

    Buses replace trains between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

    Blue Line trains will operate as follows:

  • Between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium-Armory: trains every 15 minutes

  • Between Benning Road and Largo Town Center: trains every 15 minutes

    • From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Blue Line trains between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road.

    Free shuttle buses will operate between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road. Please allow 10-12 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

    Last Train Times:

  • The last westbound train of the night from Largo Town Center will depart 1 minute early. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last westbound Blue Line train will depart Largo Town Center at 2:23 a.m. On Sunday, the last train will leave at 11:23 p.m.

  • The last eastbound train of the night from Franconia-Springfield will depart at the regular time. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Blue Line train will depart Franconia-Springfield at 2:29 a.m. On Sunday, the last train will leave at 11:29 p.m.

    • Work Performed: Rail & fastener renewal between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road stations.

    Yellow Line

    Trains at regular weekend intervals Huntington to Mt. Vernon Square only | 10:00 p.m. Friday until Closing Sunday

    Single tracking between U Street and Fort Totten to allow for switch replacement.

    All trains will operate to/from Mt. Vernon Square rather than Fort Totten. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.

    Green Line

    Trains every 24 minutes | 10:00 p.m. Friday until Closing Sunday

    Single tracking between U Street and Fort Totten to allow for switch replacement.
