Metro riders are in for another weekend of delays. Each line will run between 10 – 20 minutes through Sunday (there’s no track work scheduled for Presidents’ Day). Additionally, beginning Saturday until closing on Sunday, buses will replace trains between Gallery Place and Navy Yard.
Red Line
Trains every 12-20 minutes | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until Closing Sunday
Single tracking between Silver Spring & Glenmont to allow for communication cable installation.
Red Line trains will operate:
Between Shady Grove and Silver Spring: every 12-15 minutes Shuttle trains will operate between Silver Spring and Glenmont every 20 minutes. Transfer at Silver Spring to continue trip .
Orange Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 10:00 p.m. Friday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Federal Center SW and Eastern Market to allow for rail fastener renewal.
Silver Line
Trains every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston only | 10:00 p.m. Friday until closing Sunday
Silver Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.
Blue Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 10:00 p.m. Friday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Federal Center SW and Eastern Market to allow for rail fastener renewal.
Yellow Line
Trains every 10 minutes Huntington to National Airport only | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until Closing Sunday
All trains will operate to/from National Airport only rather than Fort Totten. Customers traveling to/from stations north of National Airport should use a Blue Line train to complete their trip.
Green Line
Buses replace trains between Gallery Place and Navy Yard | 12:01 a.m. Saturday until Closing Sunday
Green Line trains will operate as follows:
Between Branch Avenue and Navy Yard: regular weekend intervals Between Gallery Place and Greenbelt: regular weekend intervals From 12:01 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace Green Line trains between Navy Yard and Gallery Place. During this time, Archives, L’Enfant Plaza (upper level) and Waterfront stations will be closed.
Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:
Green Express buses will operate between Gallery Place and Navy Yard stations with no intermediate stops. Please add up to 20 minutes of travel time. Green Local buses will operate between Gallery Place and Navy Yard, making intermediate stops at Archives, L’Enfant Plaza and Waterfront stations. Please allow 12-15 minutes of travel time for each station stop. Last Train Times:
The last northbound train of the night from Branch Avenue will depart 11 minutes earlier. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Green Line train will leave Branch Avenue at 2:13AM en route to Navy Yard. The last northbound Green Line train will depart Gallery Place at 3:38AM. On Sunday, the last train will leave Branch Avenue at 11:13 p.m. and depart Gallery Place at 12:38 a.m. The last southbound train of the night from Greenbelt will depart 24 minutes earlier. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Green Line train will depart Greenbelt at 2:06AM en route to Gallery Place. The last southbound Green Line train will depart Navy Yard at 3:39AM. On Sunday, the last train will leave Greenbelt at 11:06 p.m. and depart Navy Yard at 12:39 a.m.
