Pollstar, the trade publication for the concert tour industry, has named 9:30 Club as “Nightclub of the Year.” This marks the fifth year in a row that the celebrated venue has won the award, and its eleventh time in total.

“The 9:30 Club’s repeat win for Nightclub of the Year is remarkable, especially in light of the fact that it competes with popular venues in much larger markets where the industry is centered including New York City and Los Angeles,” said Pollstar editor-in-chief Gary Bongiovanni in a statement. The venue has been nominated for the award ever single year that it has been in the new location, and 24 total times since 1992, when it was still at its original location.

The club recently celebrated its 35th anniversary with a pop-up exhibit and commemorative book. Rolling Stone and Billboard have given 9:30 similar accolades, so by now such titles have become somewhat repetitive. Still, the club is a source of pride for the local music scene, and occasions such as this gives us a chance to reminisce about our favorite 9:30 club memories.

“Each time we win it becomes a challenge to never become complacent,” said Seth Hurwitz, the 9:30 Club’s co-owner.
