Just imagine it: The Nationals game is about to begin. All of the players have taken off their hats, and they’re assembled along the baselines in a V. The smell of nuts is thick in the warm air. And there you are—on the diamond—with a microphone in your hand, about to belt out our national anthem.
If you can sing The Star Spangled Banner (and not all of us can), the Nats are accepting applications for soloists, groups, and instrumentalists who want to make it to the live auditions on the morning of March 12.
The first 50 people who apply with a resume and headshot are guaranteed a spot. After those slots fill up, the team will provide more information about how others can still get a chance at the spotlight.
The 2016 season kicks off on Thursday, April 7.
