While Metrorail will open early to accommodate runners in this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, a bunch of drivers are sure to be disgruntled due to road closures for the event. But not you though, because you know in advance and will avoid these streets at all costs.

But with a route that stretches from the National Mall to Columbia Heights and Capitol Hill, your trips will have to be meticulously calculated. The shutdowns begin as early as 1:30 a.m. and could last up until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (although MPD notes that the closings are subject to change without notice “based upon unanticipated events and prevailing conditions.”)

You can view the road closures on this interactive map or the grid below.

And if you plan on catching a bus, two DC Circulator routes will be modified because of the event, according to DDOT. The National Mall route will begin service at 10 a.m., and the Woodley Park – Adams Morgan – McPherson Square route won’t stop north of 14th Street and U Street NW between 7 a.m. and noon. The other four routes might experience delays. Plus, the DC Streetcar won’t take passengers until around 1 p.m.

If you do get caught in the tracks of the event, now in its fifth year, at least you’ll wait to some rockin’ tunes? And if that doesn’t sounds appealing, just plan to be trapped in confines of your neighborhood for half of the day.
