The Federal Aviation Administration wants you to know that drones and cherry blossoms don’t mix. So while you’re strolling along the Tidal Basin or elsewhere doing cherry blossoms photo shoots, just make sure that drones are not involved, the agency reminded us today, right before the National Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off this weekend.

The National Park Service says that we’ll see cherry blossom peak bloom from March 23-24. But sensibly, the airspace around D.C. is more restricted than any part of the country.
So unless they have specific approval, hobbyists are banned from flying any type of unmanned aircraft in D.C. and places within a 15-mile radius of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Recap: Bring your selfie sticks (if you must), but leave your drones at home.
