First it was a club; then it was a book; soon it will be a TV show. 9:30 will make its TV debut later this year — and it wants fans to help promote the new show.
The popular concert venue is seeking submissions of original graphic art for limited-edition, collectible posters that will be used to promote “Live at 9:30.” The show is billed as an innovative documentary series featuring the venue and a genre-spanning lineup of live performers like Garbage, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Frank Turner, and contributors and hosts like Henry Rollins and Bob Boilen, host of NPR’s Tiny Desk Unit.
D.C.-based artist Sophie McTear designed the poster for the first episode (above). The first season’s eleven remaining episodes each need an original poster, according to a press release.
Winning designs will be sold on the “Live at 9:30” website as limited editions, with partial proceeds going to the featured artists in the corresponding episode.
Submissions can be sent to disalvo@thecontentfarm.tv no later than June 30. Artists should include a brief bio and examples of previous work in the body of the message.
More details are available at the show’s website. Here’s a new teaser for the first episode of “Live at 9:30,” which will air on PBS stations nationwide:
