“A highly specialized firm with exceptional expertise in economic development and tourism marketing” has determined that Mayor Muriel Bowser is the second best U.S. mayor at using Twitter.

Development Counsellors International analyzed the mayoral accounts of the top 250 biggest U.S. cities to come up with the list, which they’ve dubbed “The Tweet Elite.” The criteria included number of followers per capita, daily tweets and reply tweets, retweets or likes, and the number of other mayors who follow them.

“Our aim was to highlight the ‘jedi masters’ of this important communications tool,” Andy Levine, DCI’s president, said in a release.

Twitter “Jedi Master” Bowser came in just behind Baltimore’s Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and was followed by Pittsburgh’s William Peduto, Charlotte’s Jennifer Robers, and Columbia’s Stephen Benjamin.

In a brief profile published in the report, Bowser cited her defense of Initiative 71 as her favorite tweet of 2015.

Bowser, who tweeted an average of 7.6 times a day during the period that DCI measured, also explained three reasons why she uses Twitter (from an iPhone apparently), including “When I talk to people, I like to be straightforward and to the point. And with 140 characters that’s really your only option!”

The mayor, fittingly, tweeted her appreciation for the honor.

Bowser also recently held the @WeThePeople Instagram handle, which is passed along to a different Washingtonian each day, on the day of her State of the District address.
