In terms of its food scene, D.C. isn’t lacking in variety, according to a study released today by real estate search site Estately.

After conducting “research,” otherwise known as looking at data from Yelp, the company scored the country’s 50 largest cities based on which have the most restaurant options in several types of cuisines. D.C. made the top five in 13 out of 18 categories, “the most of any of the 50 cities in our study,” the report says.

District residents have access to lots of veggies, according to the study, which ranked D.C. as having the best vegetarian restaurant options. In Wichita, Kansas, on the other hand, the report says, “it seems a Cobb salad is the closest you’ll get to vegetarian-friendly meal.”

D.C. also ranked first in the Halal restaurant category. Nationally, West Coast and Northeast cities have the most restaurants serving food and drinks that are aligned with Islamic law, according to the study. Cities in the central and southern parts of the country… not so much.

Estately scored each city based on three variables, which were equally weighted—restaurants per capita, restaurants per square mile, and what percentage of all area restaurants each type makes up.

D.C. ranked second in having the most pizza spots and buffets; third in fast food, Tex-Mex, and Chinese; fourth in burgers, steak, and food trucks; and fifth in soul food, Japanese, and Thai restaurants.
