Just when you packed away your sweaters and took your sandals out from under the bed, trading hot cocoa packets for a margarita-filled blender, the polar vortex emerges yet again to stymie your plans.

According to Capital Weather Gang, temperatures this Saturday will “plummet 20-25 degrees below normal in the D.C. area and some wet snow may fall.”

When the word “plummet” precedes a temperature change, you know it’s not gonna be good. But 20-25 degrees? That puts us at near-freezing temperatures. It’s like a slap in the face from an ice queen.

The National Weather Service says snow showers could occur in that 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. window on Saturday.

Don’t stash your sandals too far, though. Spring returns on Monday with a high near 65 degrees, according to NWS.
