D.C. Fire and EMS just completed its second high-angle rescue of the day: an injured construction worker from the 12th floor who was transported to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Units arrived at the scene at 12:27 p.m., after a call came for an unconscious person on the 1200 block of 1st Street SE, according to D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson Oscar Mendez.

D.C. Fire and EMS couldn’t confirm or deny reports from Examiner writer Alan Henney that the rescue units first went to the wrong address. In January, a heart-attack patient died after dispatchers sent firefighters to the incorrect location.

D.C. Fire and EMS’ first high angle rescue today came after a call for a suicide attempt on the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Avenue SE. The patient was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
